Partitioning India Over Lunch / Final Major Project

A book which documents the partition of India in 1947, how the country was split and the displacement of people of different regions. With text leading from one spread to the next, the book is designed to take the reader through a journey which covers the various issues surrounding the partition.

I took inspiration from contemporary design with references to Pakistani and Indian culture. The book’s concept of displacement and destruction formed the basis of the design from layout
to imagery. The difficult part was trying to find a printer that could print over 8 meters long, in one run.
